YCRW President’s Message
Dear Members, Friends and Fellow Republicans,
May is when we remember our fallen soldiers who gave their life for so we can enjoy our liberty. Take a moment to visit a Military cemetery in your area and place flowers or flags on the graves of fallen soldiers. This simple act of remembrance is a powerful way to honor their memory and show appreciation for their service. Rather than “Happy Memorial Day,” say something like “Have a meaningful Memorial Day.” It's also not appropriate to thank a service member for their service on this day, as it is a day for remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
IWe have a special event on Saturday June 20th, our 1st Annual Potluck Picnic featuring primary state and local candidates, food and fun. This event will be held in lieu of our Monday June 22 meeting. It will take place at A C Williams Granite Street Park from 11:00 AM to 3:00PM. It will be one of your last chances to see the candidates before the early ballots go out June 24. Save the date!!!!
Remember, the last day to register to vote is June 22. We need to encourage voters to return their vote-by-mail ballots by Friday July 17th . Please, no early ballots on July 21st are to be taken to the polling locations, it will delay the vote counting as recommended by our County Recorder Michelle Burchill. The most important thing is to not mail your ballot back via the US Post Office, they have no transparency and your ballot is sent to Phoenix and then back here. In Yavapai County we have secure ballot boxes all over the county with cameras, so please place your ballot in one of those boxes by July 17th.
In spirit of service, we as Republican women continue to stand for the values that define our great nation: individual liberty, limited government, personal responsibility, and the rule of law. Your voice and your involvement make a difference. This is also a time for action, with elections around the corner, now is the time to engage, educate, and empower. Let us be the leaders who inspire others to get involved!
There are opportunities to volunteer to help our club become a thriving entity in our community. ial events. Please reach out to me or any of our board members if you are interested.
